Even though doing what you said didn't fix my problem, it helped me find a solution. It was set on "Manual", but unless I launched it directly from services. Maybe a problem with permissions or something? In reply to Doctor Jellyface's post on November 14, I always have it set to Manual and some other XP Services and don't have a problem with it.
Did you end up having to set it to Automatic start? Try to tell us just what happened and what you did to get it "fixed". Problem - I am getting error message when I run the Setup. I have found various messages related to this error message on Windows Vista machines, but nothing on XP Prof.
I did nothing different with these two services, the setup project is EXACTLY the same between the two, with the obvious exception that they are contained within different solution files. I am baffled as to why one setup program would work and the other won't, given that I performed exactly the same steps in creating each of them. Can someone give me some clues about what could be going on, or some advice on where to start searching for answers?
NorrisPC ,. If the SYSTEM account does not have Full Control permissions on the folder to which you are installing the package, the error message will be displayed. Seems like a missing. Net Framwork 3. Need to reproduce it to find out more. Perhaps a bootstrapper could help.

I am changing the approach to install the app to local user directory. Adapting Squirrel. Windows over WiX as Squirrel is made just to install applications to local user directory.
