Ledgestone breaks apart easily and certain pieces of the stone can be separated to fill in any gaps so the stone butts up to the ceiling. How great is that?! Use a paint brush to apply an even coat and it should be dry within a couple hours. The beautiful stone wall is finished and will be a timeless accent in your home for years to come! Thank you so much, Chrissy! I hope you found this tutorial as helpful as I did. I hope you have a great weekend I have a question for you.
I wish to put up stacked stone specifically the datile beijing green on a kitchen wall. Unfortunately the only wall i feel would be able to carry this is the one which has a heating baseboard forced hot water. Is it ok to start from the top of the baseboard? Finally the stone would end on a corner wall; do you know how to make an end look appealing? Also, I have skimmed coat plaster and it would be a big chore to pull down the sheetrock; must this product be applied to cement board.
I am not trying to cut corners in no means but want to minimize difficult steps if possible. Hi Terry! Thanks for reaching out. You can try reaching out to her at chrissytorr gmail. Best Wishes!! Play around with the fit of the pieces as they come close to the outlets, and mark any pieces that need to be cut with a grease pencil. Many pieces will merely need to be trimmed to fit in one direction; a few will need to have a corner notched out to fit around the outlet properly.
Bring the marked pieces of ledgestone to the tile wet saw, and line up the pencil marks with the blade. For pieces where a notched cut will be made, choose one of the two intersecting marks to cut first.
Turn on the saw blade, and slowly push the ledgestone into the blade. Let the blade cut through the stone veneer without forcing it through. If you are notching a corner, wait until the blade intersects with the second pencil mark, then pull the stone back. Turn the ledgestone to line up the second mark, and make another cut so the corner comes out. Wet down the back of the cut piece of ledgestone with water to help prevent the stone from pulling excess water out of the mortar.
Spread mortar directly onto the back of the piece of ledgestone, as well as to the wall area around the outlet. Press the stone into place, and tap it lightly with a mallet to set it. Sarabeth Asaff has worked in and has written about the home improvement industry since
